There is no doubt that sin is only destructive and evil and that it brings a lot of problems and suffering. Sin should not be excused or beautified, for it is evil.
Some hit hard on sin, by preaching much against sin. But, to strike against sin by merely portraying how destructive sin is, that is not the solution. It is important to inform about sin and its consequences, but the focus should be on the solution.
Of course, one can motivate people to “stop sinning” and “make decisions” to change. This is not wrong, but if it’s just a focus on our willpower, it will not last that long. It is not wrong to make decisions, but we all need the help of Jesus. And that is where the focus should be, because Jesus is the solution to this with sin. Who Jesus is, what He has done through His death and resurrection and what He wants to do for every person who comes to Him, that is the solution. Jesus redeems us both from the guilt of sin and from its power.
Together with Jesus, you can start a new life. Forgiveness, grace, and help flow from Jesus. He purifies and transforms the heart and wants to give help to live right. It does not matter how complicated and tangled a situation can be, that people can be in, because for Jesus there is no situation that is too difficult.
All this that Jesus can and wants to do for every person who comes to Him, it is possible because He, was hit hard for our sake.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
Preach about sin, but reveal to the people that Jesus was severely hit and died for us. That is the solution and it was a high price Jesus in His love paid for us. When people see it, then hope, gratitude, love and faith in Jesus are not far away.
“God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor. 5:21
Since Jesus was made sin for our sake, we can now, by believing in the risen Jesus, become the righteousness of God in Christ. We can be born again, be acquitted, become the children of God, be filled with the Spirit of God, receive eternal life, and be welcomed in heaven on the day we die. This is a wonderful message.
If you are not yet saved, come to Jesus today and let Him save you from your sin and its consequences of eternal punishment. Jesus is calling you:
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matt. 11:28-30
God bless you.
