“But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” 2 Tim. 3:13
In the world today, just as before, all sorts of false information is circulating. It concerns personal interests, politics, business, relationships and so on. Of course, it causes a lot of confusion and suffering. People deceiving and are themselves being deceived, and the negative consequences of this vary in extent.
“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God said, ‘You shall not eat of any tree of the garden’?”” Gen. 3:1
The information war has been going on from the very beginning. Jesus said that the devil is a liar and the father of lies and that the devil was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). Lie is the mother tongue of the devil, it is the language he speaks. The devil can tell truths, but always with a wrong conclusion and evil intentions. The devil is evil.
The information war in society is one thing, and not always so easy to handle. But the biggest and most important information war to know and to be on the right side of, is the spiritual, because it involves eternity. The consequence for those who fall victim to the devil’s poison darts, is that precious people go to hell. The solution is the Bible. The questioned, attacked, despised and wonderful book. The Bible is God’s word, truth from beginning to end. The Bible dispels the devil’s lies and when you follow and believe the Bible’s message, you can count on blessing and that one day you will get to heaven, for all eternity. But of course the devil hates, slanders and lies about the Bible, the word of God. The first thing the serpent ever said was – “Has God said…” (Gen. 3: 1), and so he, the father of lies, has continued ever since, sometimes wearing priestly garments.
Jesus treated people in different ways, depending on the person in front of Him. Jesus said, among other things, the following things, that can help people today to take warning:
“… Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matt. 6:23
“Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.” John 8:45
If you have lived with the lie long and deep enough, you will not believe the truth when it is presented, precisely because it is the truth you are confronted with. The truth is liberating and it is meant to be presented in love, but it can also be difficult to realize that you have been deceived before.
You can trust the Bible, it is the light in darkness and the hope in hopelessness. It is God’s love letter to us humans. Read it and believe in it. For example, start with the Gospel of John in the New Testament. Jesus is the truth and let Him save your immortal soul and also help you during life on earth. Tell Jesus today that you want to be reconciled to God and be forgiven of all your sins. Then follow Jesus, the truth, who is the leader of the victorious side in the most important of all information wars. Jesus is Lord!
God bless you.
