“forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved…” 1 Thess. 2:16
The method for people to be saved is for someone to speak, spread, preach – the gospel. It is a message that needs to be spread so that people can be saved, rescued, for eternity. There is a battle going on regarding the soul of every human being. Without Jesus you are lost and it is nothing new that there are forces that want to prevent the gospel to be spread.
“He told us how he had seen an angel in his house, who stood and said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter. He will speak words to you by which you and all your household will be saved.’” Acts 11:13-14
It is those who believe in Jesus who are called to spread the gospel. In the verses above we see that the angel did not preach the gospel but referred to Peter. Peter then preached the gospel and the people heard, believed and were saved.
“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” Rom. 10:14
Thus, in every generation, in every country, it is required that someone preach. So let us who today believe in Jesus make sure that we never stop preaching. It is a great privilege to proclaim and spread the good news about Jesus.
The angels will not preach and neither will God. But when we go out with the message of Jesus’ death and resurrection, God goes with us and protects, helps and gives us strength. It is about saving as many precious human souls as possible for eternity.
God bless you.
