“For we who have believed have entered this rest,…” Hebr. 4:3
The Epistle to the Hebrews speaks of a rest, a rest for God’s people. Two things stand out and are emphasized in the Epistle to the Hebrews and that is Jesus and faith. Jesus is our High Priest and has made everything clear to all at all times and this becomes a reality in one’s life, by believing.
The good news is that Jesus is our rest and He is that today. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebr. 1:3) and we who believe are in Christ.
“and He raised us up and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” Eph. 2:6
If you are in Christ, you are now seated in the heavenly places and that means rest. Jesus has won victory and has sat down and we now rest in Him. God now looks at us who believe, in Christ. We have been justified and are blessed.
When you see and believe this, it will manifest in and through your life. That is why the Epistle to the Hebrews speaks of and emphasizes faith. Let us rest in the faith, move forward in faith, and exhort one another to remain in the faith today and every day (Hebrews 3:12-14, 4:1-3).
“As workers together with God, we ask you not to receive the grace of God in vain. For He says: “In an acceptable time I have listened to you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Look, now is the accepted time; look, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Cor. 6:1-2
Here the Holy Spirit exhorts us through Paul. The victory is won, the rest from one’s own achievements is here, salvation is available and today, right now, we can receive. All by grace through faith. Praise God and give Him all the glory. Thank you Jesus, you are wonderful.
God bless you.
