“For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Rom. 8:3-4
The law of God, in the Old Testament, was limited. It is holy and spiritual, but limited because of our weakness. The law requires, but Jesus helps. The law has had its time and now it is all about Jesus.
Sin has already been condemned, in the body of Jesus when He died on the cross. Now Jesus lives, through the Holy Spirit in all who believe in Jesus. Now, with the help of the Spirit, we can live as God intended us to live.
It all starts with believing in Jesus’ death and resurrection. That is enough for us to be reconciled to God. We can not add anything to the work of Jesus. We can only receive, by grace, through faith. Put your trust in Jesus and He will be your Savior. Then rest in Jesus’ already finished work for you.
When Jesus then lives in your heart through faith, His life, through the Holy Spirit, can flow out through you. This too is done by faith. Rest in the fact that Jesus will live His life through you. He will make you more and more like Him in your character and lifestyle. Trust in Jesus that He has saved you if you believe in Him and that He will also help you in your walk with Him.
The law could only tell us, what to do and what not to do. Jesus He has fulfilled the law for our sake and helps every man who believes in Him.
God bless you.
