“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though I were dead. Then He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, though I was dead. Look! I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Rev. 1:17-18
God is accommodating and good. When John fell as dead, Jesus was quick to lay His hand on John. When the disciple Peter earlier, walked on the water, but then began to sink and cried out to Jesus, then Jesus’ reaction was the same. Jesus reached out His helping hand to Peter. Jesus seeks contact with man and it happens on the wavelength of faith.
When Jesus laid His hand on John, He also spoke into his life. He told His disciple not to be afraid and then He talked to him about Himself. When we see Jesus as who He really is, we get the perspective of faith on life.
We do not need to be afraid of God or what is going on around us. Jesus wants to take our hand every day and join us in life. And Jesus is not limited or distanced. He both wants and can help, both you and the people around you wherever you go.
Maybe, for some reason, you feel as if death has somehow begun to creep into your life? Maybe you felt overwhelmed in some way and started to lose hope. Jesus is there and He reaches out to you and tells you not to be afraid. Jesus wants to speak into your life so hope, faith and life will return.
God bless you.
