“…His eyes were like a flame of fire.” Rev. 1:14

Fire can be both attractive and frightening.  Fire can heat a frozen person and allow the baker to bake bread, but fire can also destroy and ruin.  Jesus’ eyes are like a flame of fire.  His eyes are burning with love for people.  Jesus’ eyes are not tired, dejected, or confused.

“For the eyes of the Lord move about on all the earth to strengthen the heart that is completely toward Him.” 2 Chron. 16:9

Jesus actively looks for people who approach Him from their hearts.  Jesus’ eyes never get tired, but He is always watchful.  Even if someone is in the deepest darkness, Jesus sees.  His eyes see through everything and darkness escapes Him.

I do not know what you see when you look at yourself and your circumstances.  But I know that Jesus sees everything as it really is, but He also sees what can be.  Jesus has both love and faith in His heart, for you and your situation.  His love in His heart for you, radiates through His eyes.  But, also Jesus’ abhorrence, of all that is out to destroy your life is visible in His eyes.  His eyes are burning with abhorrence at the sin that is ruining people’s lives and He remembers the high price He had to pay, when He took our penalty of sin on the cross.

Come to Jesus today and let Him tell you what He sees, when He looks at you and your life.  Your heart can be set on fire by the love of Jesus today, a fire that warms and helps.

 God bless you.
