The message that we can respond to the love that God has for us and receive forgiveness for our sins, is a joyful message. So, how is it possible?

Demonstration of love

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:8

Our sins, according to us small or big, separates us from God. That is the reason why Jesus came and took all our sins upon Himself and the punishment for them, when He died on the cross. He did it by free will, out of love for us.

“In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

On the third day Jesus rose from the dead and is alive forevermore. His resurrection confirms that He, as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, is valid. The death and resurrection of Jesus is a victory over sin, death, curse and the devil. Jesus won that victory for us. Through Jesus we can now receive grace that liberates us, both from the guilt and strength of sin.

Have you responded?

“We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

When you realize that you are loved by God, it’s natural that you want to open your heart for God. Jesus has made it possible for us to be reconciled to God and to have fellowship with Him.

How to respond

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life…He who believes in Him (Jesus) is not condemned.” John 3:16, 18

You respond by believing in Jesus, which means that you rely on and trust in Him.  Then you will be reconciled to God.  If you believe in Jesus, you can confess your faith by saying to Jesus that you believe in Him.

Continue your walk with Jesus

Through faith in Jesus you can get to know God and receive His love for you.

“…and purified their hearts by faith.” Acts 15:9

Through your faith in Jesus has God cleansed your heart and you are forgiven. God has a plan for your life and He hears you when you pray. Jesus wants to help you now, to not fall into the temptations of sin. With His help, will the transformation that happened in your heart, also manifest more and more in and through your life. Jesus wants to guide you through the nice days, storms and regular days of life. Follow Him and know that He loves you.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me…” Psalm 23:1-4

Read more in the Bible, especially in the second part, called The New Testament. Feel free to make contact with other Christians and try to find a local church, where you can share your faith and fellowship with others.

God bless you.
