“…having put on the breastplate of righteousness,” Eph. 6:14

Ephesians 6 speaks of God’s armor, not yours or mine.  God wants us to put on His armor, which He graciously offers us.  Everything that God gives and offers is by grace.  Nothing that we can earn then, by trying to impress God.  Here it speaks about the breastplate of righteousness.  It is strong and hard and it protects your heart and interior.  God’s righteousness is a gift to us and we receive it by believing in Jesus.

“But we all are as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is as filthy rags;… ” Isa. 64:6

Praise God for the gift of righteousness.  If it depended on our own righteousness, we would be shot down at once by the accuser, the devil.  Our own righteousness (not sins) is as filthy rags.  Imperfect in other words.

Put on God’s perfect breastplate today.  It protects you and reminds you that because you are already righteous in Christ, to therefore proceed forward in righteous lifestyle.  When we fail in our walk, we do not take off the breastplate we have received.  But we have it left on us and believe in – “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” Jer. 23:6

 God bless you.
