“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;” Luke 4:18
Whatever we humans encounter in life, poverty of various kinds, broken hearts and dreams, different types of captivity, not seeing what we should see, different types of oppression – all this and much more Jesus has the solution to.
To preach is to proclaim what God says. Preaching is done in faith, from the heart, in the power of the Holy Spirit. The power does not lie in the volume, but in the presence of the Spirit of God that goes with the preached word. To preach is to state firmly, clearly and distinctly.
Jesus preaches into your situation today. He proclaims freedom, health, forgiveness, restoration and hope. With Jesus, there are always opportunities. Listen to the foremost preacher of all – Jesus Christ. He preaches to you from the word of God and He preaches to you through His Spirit. He can also preach through another human being. And He proclaims – Deliverance to the captives! Hope! Forgiveness! Possibilities!
Jesus does not preach about deliverance and recovery of sight, but He preaches deliverance and recovery of sight. His sermon gives freedom and sight when you believe, it makes you suddenly free and seeing. Listen to and believe in Jesus.
God bless you.
