“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though I were dead. Then He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, though I was dead. Look! I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.” Rev. 1:17-18

When the apostle John met the risen and glorified Jesus, he fell at his feet as dead.  Jesus is God (1 Tim. 3:16) and we are human.  When the human and the mortal come in contact with the divine and the immortal, it becomes a reaction.  Creation is subordinate to the Creator.  Jesus has all power in heaven and on earth.

When John fell as dead, Jesus laid His hand on John.  He did not stand cold hearted at a distance, but sought contact with His disciple.  Jesus is accommodating and knows that we are fragile vessels.  Jesus told John to not be afraid.  He does not want us to feel bad.  Then Jesus spoke to John about Himself and gave him an assignment.

Whatever situation you are in, know that Jesus is God.  Jesus is risen and glorified and His power is enormous.  Before Him, everything human and mortal must bow.  He wants to lay His hand on you and your situation, because He cares.  He has proved this when He previously, willingly, gave His hands to be nailed to the cross for you.  He tells you, to not be afraid.

Jesus is Lord and He loves His people.  You can do whatever He tells you to do.

 God bless you.
