“having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace,” Eph. 6:15
Walking barefoot outdoors makes you limited, vulnerable and dirty. Cool, heat and sharp ground surface risk injuring you. But there are shoes. They protect your feet and affect your entire walk.
The gospel of peace gives you readiness. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, every man who believes, receives peace with God. This is the good news that Jesus called us to preach. Through Jesus, peace is also established between people.
The more you understand the gospel of peace, the greater your readiness become. Because you are rooted in peace with God through Jesus. You have an inner rest and thus you have a constant readiness. You know that God is with you all the time. You are safe and courageous in Jesus. Whenever Jesus lead you to tell others about Him or help someone, you are ready. You are ready to go anywhere, because you have the shoes on. Even if it is hot, cold, sharp or muddy roads, you don’t hesitate. For the happy news of peace with God through Jesus, brings readiness as a fruit.
“Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19
