“And you, who were formerly alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight, if you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and are not removed from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.” Col. 1:21-23

The message of the New Testament is – by grace through faith.  We both become and remain saved by grace.  We can neither save ourselves nor keep ourselves saved through our own efforts.  We need grace and God provides grace, in abundance.  Grace transforms, which the law cannot do.

The only way to receive this wonderful and powerful grace is through faith.  Therefore, let us make sure and encourage one another to continue in the faith.  Your faith in grace is especially tested when you fail.  Maybe you scolded someone yesterday and you are now ashamed and do not feel worthy to draw near to God.  Remember that grace is available, so keep on believing.  Grace is not given to you because of your perfection, but because of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice on the cross.

We read at the beginning “…to present you holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight, if you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, and are not removed from the hope of the gospel, which you have heard,…”

If you believe, God is doing His part.  God present you above reproach, in His sight.  So believe in Jesus who has made it possible for you and me to receive grace from God.

 God bless you.
