“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8
The Spirit can be likened to the wind. When the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on Pentecost, He entered as a whirlwind. The Spirit manifests in several different ways, sometimes powerful, sometimes soft and sometimes as completely still but not “empty / absent”. The Spirit wants to lead and help us in everything that concerns our lives.
When the wind blows, it has a driving force with it. Have you seen a sailboat that sails, then you have seen what the wind power is capable of. When the sail receives the wind, it drives the entire boat forward.
As a child of God, expect the Spirit to blow in your sails. How powerful or not, is not important. Sometimes it is even completely silent, but initiated by God. Then it might be time to “patch the sails and service the boat”. But the Spirit is always present, so rely on His timing and direction in everything.
God bless you.
