“The Lord God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed above all livestock, and above every beast of the field; you will go on your belly, and you will eat dust all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel.” Gen. 3:14-15

Immediately after man’s fall in the garden, God pronounced a prophecy (prediction) that the sepent’s (the devil’s) head would be bruised.  Head stands for power / authority.  Since then, the devil was on his guard against “he” who would one day come to crush his head.  Then came a day, when Jesus Christ was born into this world.

“So then, as the children share in flesh and blood, He likewise took part in these, so that through death He might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver those who through fear of death were throughout their lives subject to bondage.” Hebr. 2:14-15

The serpent would bruise “him” in the heel.  That is exactly what happened when Jesus gave His life on the cross.  Through the death of Jesus, the devil became powerless.  What looked like a defeat was, in fact, a victory.  A huge, but expensive, victory.  Jesus won this victory for you and me.  We can now be free from the power of fear.  Fear manipulates and makes people do what they do not want to do.  The devil uses fear (many times a fear in religious clothing) to manipulate, control and force.  Jesus struck the weapons of fear (fear of death) out of the devil’s hands.  Through Jesus, we no longer need to fear, not even death.  Jesus took our sin and its punishment on the cross.  We can now go free.

“In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins…God is love” 1 John 4:10, 16

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love. We love Him (God) because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:18-19

Everything is prepared for you and me to enjoy.  The devil is defeated and the sin debt is paid.

Jesus rose from the dead on the third day and says, “I am He who lives, though I was dead. Look! I am alive forevermore.” Rev. 1:18

and

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Matt.  28:18

You can experience the reality of this blood-bought victory for you, by believing in Jesus.

“Whoever believes in Him (Jesus) will not be ashamed.” Rom. 10:11

Jesus loves you with a love demonstrated by, blood being forced out of his veins through violence, because of our sins.

Love demonstrated, love so strong and sweet.  You can rest in Jesus’ arms.  Believe and trust in Jesus.

 God bless you.
