If you live in the countryside or near a farm, you will inevitably have small insects at certain times of the year.  Flies come when the heat starts to rise, and you don’t really know where they come from, they are just there all of a sudden.  Annoying, buzzing, creeping, bacterial spreading.  When you eat, rest, snack or sleep they can ruin the whole thing.  If they come indoor there is only one thing to do, kill them.  But preferably they do not come in at all.  Having mosquito nets for the window and the door is the best.  Flies are like bad thoughts, unclean thoughts, inferior thoughts that make you feel bad and look down on yourself.  That is not thoughts that are from Jesus.

How do I keep them away then?

Difficult to completely defend ourselves because we live in this world.  Even if we were to isolate ourselves completely and stop taking in information, we still have our brains.  The enemy uses everything he has against you.  (Beelzebub is one of the names of the devil and that means – the lord of the flies).  The word of God is like a net that stops the wrong thoughts.

“Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things.” Phili. 4:8

Instead of allowing a thought like “I’m not worth anything”, I don’t let that thought come in, but stop it with a net.  With the word of God you can also kill every “fly / thought” that wants to come into your mind.  God’s word says I am a new creation and God’s dear child, smack!

Keep the flies away, do not let them sit and crawl on you and make you sick. Keep thoughts that do not give you life away by filling you with the word of God. Jesus’ thoughts are that you are pure in Him, that you can do everything in Him and that in Him you are a conqueror.

 Be blessed.
