“Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18

There is forgiveness available from God through Jesus, even for the most grave sins.  Even if your sins would be like scarlet, today you can be clean as snow.  How is that possible?

 The punishment of sin

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Jesus took the punishment for your and my sins, on the cross.  In Jesus’ body, God punished all our sin.  God’s wrath was poured out on His beloved Son, Jesus.  When Jesus hung on the cross, it became a solar eclipse for three hours.  In the moment of His death, the curtain of the temple, separating the holy from the most holy, was torn in two, from top to bottom.  The ground shook, and the rocks split apart.  When all this happened, the officer and those with him that guarded Jesus said that, “Truly He was the Son of God!”  The pain and anguish Jesus experienced when the punishment fell on Him and He was made a curse for us, is indescribable.  Jesus was completely innocent and purity personified, but His love for us made Him take the punishment we deserved.

On the third day Jesus arose from the dead.  Today, there is purification from all sins, through the precious blood of Jesus.  Therefore, today we can become clean and forgiven.

 All sins in Stockholm

“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2

Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins.  He took all the sins, in all generations to come, on the cross.  All sins in Stockholm today took Jesus on Himself.  The sins committed behind closed doors, in front of the screens and in the streets.  The sins in Stockholm City, in Södermalm and in the suburbs.

All sins throughout Sweden, Denmark, Chile, the United States, Egypt, Japan, Israel, Thailand, Pakistan and India carried Jesus.  The sins of the whole world took Jesus on Himself, that includes all your sins.

 Grace – undeserved goodness

“but where sin increased, grace abounded much more” Rom. 5:20

Our sins are many and great, but the grace is greater.  This is the gospel my friend, which means good news.

There is also forgiveness for those who think you are flawless and self-sufficient.

“But we all are as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness is as filthy rags; and we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6

Even your righteous deeds that you are so proud of are as filthy rags in God’s eyes.  Why? Because we are unclean in ourselves.  We can never in ourselves reach the standard of God.

 Believe in Jesus

“Therefore, brothers, let it be known to you that through this Man (Jesus) forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by Him everyone who believes is justified from everything from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.” Acts 13:38-39

When you believe in Jesus, you receive, by grace, the forgiveness of sins.  You are declared free by God and given a new heart.  The Spirit of God enters your heart and Jesus lives within you.  The love of God is poured out in your heart.  You are transformed on the inside when you believe in Jesus.  As you continue to believe in and follow Jesus, the inner transformation will appear more and more in your life.  The last thing you want to do when you experience God’s love for you, is to go out and sin.

Through Jesus, man is reconciled to God and to one another.  This, dear reader, is the power of the gospel.

 God bless you.
